Talking of brown, my lawn in the front garden gave up the ghost ages ago;
despite heavy rainfall. The back garden has brown patches in the lawn, the
green bits are the weeds and clover.
Strange though, the grass seems to grow in the shade of the trees so
methinks it is the strength of the sun that is killing off the grass. My
runner beans nearly died the other day with the sun on them. I have had to
cover them with shading netting to prevent the leaves burning. This never
used to happen, the sun seems more fierce these days.
