The temperature in my house is currently 26 downstairs and 28 upstairs. I
have no windows open. A couple of hours ago, according to Martin Rowley,
the external temperature near here was 32 degrees and I suspect it's
higher
now.

Yep, it works well for me to, even with the curtains open.
