Default Berkshire - third-hottest day in last 90 years

At my site in Wokingham we had 35.8 today. That is the highest for July
since before 1904, beating the previous highest in 1948 by 1.8C. It is also
the 2nd highest max for any day in the same period, the highest being 36.9
on 10th Aug 2003. We got only 35.4 on 3rd Aug 1990.

My maximum today 36.0°C. (Stevenson screen, open rural exposure).

New July record (obviously - as the previous UK July record was 35.9°C
- not the 36.0°C quoted by the Met Office - see my earlier post on
this topic)

Third-hottest day since my local records commenced in 1917 - the only
days 35.0°C or more being -

35.0°C - 19 Aug 1932
35.0°C - 27 June 1976
36.5°C - 3 Aug 1990
36.4°C - 10 Aug 2003
36.0°C - today's max

Reading University AWS max 35.5°C. Reading's previous July highest was
35.0°C on 12 July 1923, at the more sheltered old town-centre site.
