Default Golf & sea breezes

Ahhhhhh Hoylake

Spent many an hour screaming back and forth in my kite buggy on the sand
flats.
Excellent place!

Watching the golf at Hoylake, some classic sea breeze front curtain
clouds were visible at one point.

Shortly afterwards, the commentators remarked how a cool breeze had got
up. An hour or so later they were in total confusion that the clouds
were moving in one direction but the wind was from another.

I have previously remarked on this newsgroup how cricket commentators
seem to find some connection between the height of the clouds and the
likelihood of rain.
"The clouds are high so rain is unlikely" (?)

Now it seems that golf commentators - presumably used to seaside
links courses - are clearly in total ignorance of sea breezes.
