across the Wash at about 5pm, wreaking havoc as it tore north.

Seatour operator William Searle said yesterday: "You could see the
waterspout going up about 150ft.

"It went right through the sailors, and the boats went over like a deck of
cards. It is a miracle nobody was hurt.

"I have seen one or two similar type water spouts but not this close and I
think this was the biggest."
