Reached 25.6C in Penzance, with only brief spells of sunshine. As you
say, felt even hotter.

Just got back from Scilly, lovely weather, well away from that
depression in the North Sea. Temperature in low 20s every day, plenty
of strong sunshine (apart from Monday) & great visibility with clear
Atlantic air & 18C sea temperature. So great for views, walking,
boating & swimming. I notice Falmouth got 42 hours of sunshine
Weds-Fri. (Sunniest place in the UK all 3 days)

Very, very dry on Scilly now, noticeable browner looking than west
Cornwall. I expected a reasonable amount of rain the day I went over
(Sat 29th July) on the only active looking Atlantic front to cross
Cornwall for ages, but it was barely enought to dampen the ground on
the Islands.
