You can't call it a NW airmass simply because the wind is
NW'ly.
I just *did*.
This air is of mid-Atlantic origin and has turned SE'wards over
the UK. In old terminology it's considerably closer to Tropical
Maritime than Polar Maritime.
Shouldn't it have cooled considerably by the time it ran right around
that big high, though?
BTW, reached 28C today, with an 18C dewpoint. Fortunately I'm still
acclimatised from the previous hot weather, so it didn't feel too bad.
