Default annual variation

Hi

I am confused about "annual variation" or "yearly variation" or other
better terminology?
I have read about a paper talking about "annual variation of monthly
average daily mean relative humidity". It's a caption of a figure
drawing relative humidity variation expanded from days 0 to 364. That
is to say, it contains only data for a year. Every datapoint is
monthly average daily mean relative humidity.
(1)I am wondering why it's called annual variation of ......
(2)If I have data extended over 10 years, and every datapoint is
monthly average daily mean relative humidity. What terminology should
I use? yearly variation of monthly average daily mean relative
humidity or some better one?

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Mike
