No sunshine here at Southend-on-Sea at all today.

Here on the Northeast coast (Sunderland), it started off overcast and the
rain had arrived by 10am. It's been fairly relentless through the day with
periods of particularly heavy rain.
Started to become brighter and drier around 4pm... glimpses of the sun
around 6pm and looking as though we could be heading for a fine end to the
day.
