Default Unforecast rain - Leeds

Some rain in Leeds (Harehills) between 8am and around 8.40.
It was wet also in Ilkley this morning too.
Now we have had all these assurance about how dry it is (and the soil on

my
allotment is fairly dry, so no complaints)
and there is a fairly big High over us. There was only a chance of showers
forecasts for the south.
So any ideas where this rain came from?

Another thought about the weather in Leeds, 60 miles from the North Sea
Coast.
Have you noticed how often Leeds moves to near Scarborough when we hear on a
forecast " Cloud from the North Sea will move a few miles in land" or "it
will burn back by mid-morning", but it never does till about 5pm only to
roll back inland that few miles again at 6pm.
