Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Monday. Issued 0534z,
14 September 2006.

The models still show unsettled weather pushing in from the west, with some
notably wet and windy weather possible (ECM, GFS). MetO brings in more
settled weather in contrast, but it stands alone today. As ever, more runs
are needed.

SW'lies and WSW'lies cover the UK with a trough to the west. The trough
moves swiftly NE'wards across the UK at T+144, with SW'lies for all. By
T+168 complex low pressure lies to the WNW and ENE of Scotland, with strong
to gale forcee WSW'lies for all.

The MetO run shows a large low over Iceland and a trough across Scotland and
Northern Ireland. Winds are westerlies under the trough, with SW'lies
elsewhere. A ridge builds across all areas except Scotland at T+144, with
lighter SW'lies as a result.

Low pressure lies to the west with southerlies and SSW'lies as a result.
Winds become SW'lies and WSW'lies at T+144 as the low to the west becomes
complex. By T+168 the low edges closer to the UK, with strong SW'lies for
all.
