The details are

STATION: DB272/992720
ELEVATION: 0000m MSL (0ft MSL)
CITY: ENVIRONM BUOY 42015 LAT/LONG: 30.12°N 088.12°W
(30°07'N 088°07'W)

It seems to be a WMO number for Environ Buoy in the GOM. It seems to
be reporting via ship obs on ID 42015

.... well, its to be hoped the CIA aren't monitoring this ng, as they
are paranoid enough about Iran - if they knew that Tehran had a buoy
drifting about at that location they would go ballistic - literally!

Looking at the various 'weather' groups, I'd go for a platform/rig in
the southern Caspian that they haven't been given a WMO number for, OR,
that they don't want to be known.

Martin.

LOL

Thanks Paul & Martin, I don't think we can be sure exactly where it is,
I'll keep an eye on it to compare weather with what we think maybe
nearby locations. Even so, no point adding it to my lists if we don't
know where it ie ;-)
