Yeah, I know what you mean with these downpours, see my post entitled
Belated (WR) Nebwury dated 14th September which pretty much got ignored at
the time. 28mm (adjusted later to 27mm) of rainfall fell during that 20-30
minute event on that day and unofficially we were the wettest place (45mm)
in the country, ahead of Brize Norton which was suggested by the MO.

I videoed minor flooding from the storm that day and the storm also made the
local paper as it always does in this cases.
