Default [WR] Fareham - very wet today

Intermittent moderate to heavy rain for much of the morning here in
West fareham, until 13:45 when it stopped. No thunder or lightning.

Total rainfall since 6 am today has been 31.8 mm (1.25 inches).
Squelch! It looks like the heaviest rain has now moved away Eastwards.

As this has already beaten my 30.7 mm recorded on 14th September,
today is already the wettest day of the year.

Windy from the South West - Solent MRSC just down the road reported
gusts to 35 Knots at noon. Brollies not much use in those conditions -
Dan the Man take note!

*****Solent MRSC*****

Keen eyed folks may have noticed that no visibility or present weather
observations have been posted at Solent MRSC since 0600 GMT today:
http://www.meto.gov.uk/weather/europ...bs/solent.html

I will post separately about this as there's an interesting story
behind it.
