Sad though anyone's death is I suppose this is meant to illustrate the
dangers of walking. No doubt we will all be compelled to compile a
written Risk Assessment before venturing out very soon, after all,
pavements can be dangerous places, with solid obstacles (lamp-posts,
letter boxes), randomly moving obstructions (people) and sudden drops
(kerbs) to catch out the unprepared.

PC gone mad?

My wife works in a school, she has recently been told that she must not
shout at the children when they are being noisy - official guidance
from on high now says that one must use a gentle "shoosh" to quieten
them down. Obviously this gentle and inaudible command has little or
no effect.

One can only assume that the precious little darlings will be
irreparably psychologically damaged if anyone dares to discipline them
by raising their voice. Either that or an irate parent will threaten
to sue the school because little johnny came home in tears because Miss
talked loudly at him

Cynically,

Martin
