Default Balkan front through Greece - Dull Holland

Good morning, everyone.

A balkan front has swept Greece from north to south bringing rain and,
in the mountainous areas, snow. A new Davis weather station on Mt
Parnitha (1413m), the highest mountain around the basin of Athens, was
set earlier last week and the webcamera is already covered with a
blaknet of snow:http://www.meteocam.gr/parnitha/parnmeteo/(station's
altitude: 1330m). That's a very important mountain for athenian weather
enthusiasts as it's the first to receive snow and it is the second time
this autumn that it's snowing there.
More cold weather is expected towards the end of this week with snow
even at low level areas, as the -5C T850 isotherm should be pushed just
south of Athens.

Grey and dull in Holland today with drizzle since a couple of hours in
the provincie Utrecht. A turn to colder weather is expected as of
tomorrow; the warm North Sea should help the development of a few
decent showers, hopefully.

You are missing the delightful Mediterranean autumn at
sea-level as well. I see that Athens has had at least 24 hours'
continuous rain with a temperature of about 10° and there is now a
force 6 northerly blowing. Tomorrow we will have a northerly (roughly)
and it won't be any cooler than that, if at all.
