And as for forecasters finding 'some' weather reports useful, well,
yes they do on a few occasions in a year when extremes occur, but to
imply that in a mild southwesterly that forecasters at Exeter would
need to confirm that the high ground on the Moors of SW England have
low cloud/fog and drizzle is, frankly, an insult to their
intelligence.
Is it? You were a forecaster John not so long ago, so pray tell me
how you would know if it was drizzling on Dartmoor with no
observations? Radar doesn't pick up drizzle necessarily.
I have to agree there - Saturday's radar didn't show the extent of drizzle
across Exmoor - and 5 miles down the road you wouldn't have thought the hill
fog was quite so bad....
