Default Temperature rise - Warlingham

After minimum of 10.5°C at about 19Z the temperature has now
reached 14.4°C here and is still slowly rising. The maximum during
the day was 13.0°C. The wind is SSW force 5. I can't see any reason
for this on a synoptic scale except to say I had thought the
temperature would have been higher than it was during the day. None
of this got a mention on the 0030 forecast on R4. Either they don't
know it's happening or they think that such a phenomenon as night being
warmer than day is beyond the comprehension of the bovine numbskull
knuckle-grazers such as myself who listen to R4, and they'd better not
disturb their simple view of the world in case they get nasty. You
never, ever, get any enlightenment from this forecast which is in the
wee small hours on "Britain's premier speech station" and which could
last, if they so wished, for at least 5 minutes. The BBC, or maybe the
presenters, are an absolute disgrace. Where's Bob Pritchard?
Sorry about the usual rant but public understanding of weather
in this country is very poor and the BBC and Met Office seem to be
quite content with that.
