The graph is generated from a 0.1mm TBR sampled once per second.

I can't do a direct comparison as I have a Davis tipping bucket gauge,
with the data being logged at 5-minute intervals. One bucket tip
represents 0.254 mm.
In the 5-minute period 0440-0445z there was a total of 1.27 mm measured
i.e. 5 bucket tips. This gives a 5-minute rate of about 15 mm/hr.
The maximum rate indicated, presumably based on the minimum time between
bucket tips, was 63 mm/hr. If my arithmetic is correct this means that
the 63 mm/hr was the max rate over about 15 seconds.
These figures seem reasonably consistent with your max 1-min rate of 27
mm/hr, Bernard.
The noise of the rain woke me up.
