I would like to add:
Where's Orkney?
Is that the far north :-)
You'll probably miss it actually. But I know that what folk call a
gale in the SE is really only a strong breeze up there. A real island
gale blows cement mixers around and blows over stone walls. At least
that what a lighthouse man from Muckle Flugga once told me!
It's surprising some of those lighthouses were ever completed, given
the prevailing weather in the locations.
If you come across a book called "The Lighthouse Stevensons" it's a
goodly read.
