It's a very long time since I saw a post of his. All news readers have the
abilty to kill file someone, and that is just what I did with him. None of
his posts show for me, unless he is replied to.

!delete From "Weatherlawyer" is the rule I use in Dialog

Better still, set up a filter which kills any messages from given
person AND all replies to it. My newsreader (trn) can do this, though he
hasn't wound me up quite enough yet.
