RMK: Such a superb morning I went for a long walk, hence RTD.
Fog almost fills the Vale of Aylesbury although hills poke through;
top of fog can therefore be quite easily pinned down to 140-150m
amsl. Excellent vis above it. What appears to be the leading edge
of quite a thick layer of Ac low in the W sky; one or two scraps
of Ac lentic elsewhere; Ci shows marked undulations; no refraction
phenomena. Ground frozen hard. Cotra.

RMK: Hoar frost has melted, but the ground is still well-frozen
in the shade.

RMK: Fog has re-formed in the Vale, and now, in contrast
to this morning, the top of the inversion lies at about 250m,
just above Ivinghoe Beacon. A dramatic golden-pink sky,
lasting long after the sun's gone. Also, surprisingly, Ac cast,
with ocsnl prominent towers, stretching from approx
190deg to 090 deg across the SE'ern sky.
