Default O/T reducing photo size?

In article ,
"Keith (Southend)" writes:
My camera creates rather large jpg files (5 million pixels). For the
purposes of uploading to a web page how can I reduce the size of the
file(s)? I have 'Paint' and 'Imaging' with my windows XP software.

If the Imaging with XP is the same as that included with 98SE then,
although it will read JPGs it doesn't seem to allow saving in that
format. Paint is also pretty limited, I think. However almost any of the
large number of freeware imaging applications should be able to do it.
