0850z Calm 120m FZFG SKC -02.0/xxx 1044.8
RMK: Fog cleared last night just after midnight, and it was
as clear as a bell when I got up this morning ~08z, but
a bank of fog rolled over the top of the Downs between
0840 and 0850, clearing again 0920-0930z. Never more
than 10m deep. Copious rime, 0.5-0.7mm on some
plants and fencing facing last night's W to NW wind.
Slight glaze on hard surfaces from yesterday's moisture.
Bar reached 1045.2 overnight ... highest since god
knows when, Jan 1992 perhaps.

1220z Var F1 100m FZFG SKC -01.2/-01.4 1043.8
RMK: Banks of fog coming and going all morning;
some distant trees poking through the top of it, so it's
less than 10m deep.

1450z W F2 800m FZFG SKC -01.0/-01.4 1042.8
RMK: Fog around 100m till 1430z, then it thinned
markedly. Second consecutive ice-day on the cards here

1820z Calm 400m FZFG SKC -01.6/-02.0 1043.1
RMK: Fog closed in to 100m again for a time, but
has thinned once more. Sky above so clear I can see
the Milky Way faintly.

2250z SW F1 500m FZFG OBSC -00.4/-00.8 1043.3
RMK: Definitely no stars. Rime and glaze persist.
A very difficult drive to Luton at 1930z, but slightly
easier returning.
