Estimated mean and gust at 10m agl was SSW 25 knots gust 48 knots. This one
pressed in on the window glass but soon passed.
Total rainfall for event (since 0200 on 29th) was a whopping 91.1 mm.
No sudden temperature drop at front or rain increase, just a gusty period

and
that was it.

A massive 1.8mm here in Southend-on-Sea. Max gust 30mph

Sheesh 1.8 mm is that all?

It's always amazing how much rain the SW gets compared to the SE. A friend in
Tavistock recorded 62 mm and he is on low ground!

Already the rain is showing very heavy on the radar just off Cornwall and we
have a few light showers as a forerunner. Cloud is increasing rapidly now, and
I'm bracing myself for the onslaught again :-)
