It always amazes me just how much rain NW England gets compared
to Yorkshire. I was brought up in Leeds but have been over the other
of the pennines for over 15 years now and I'm still not used to it.....

Depends where you are in Yorkshire Col, we used to get a fair amount in
Penistone. I find it hard to take that we get so little here, having been
brought up on a hilltop in Cornwall.
However, last night's (since midnight) 12.7mm took us over 800mm for the
year, about 10% above average for here.
