Perth, Australia - Mean daily max Jan 31.6 Today Perth max 19.9 -
feels freezing here! You would have a lot to write about if temps in
Southern England were some 11 degs below normal giving you max's of
about minus 5!
And Melbourne got some very low maxima about a week of so ago,
14/15C or something like that, plus a white Christmas over some of the
mountains. What is going on down there, presumably exceptionally cool
southerly blasts from the Antarctic.
It's quite something when the temperature differences between Australia
in summer and the UK in winter are next to nothing.... Similarly, it
was impossible to determine whether the weather report for
"Christchurch" in the papers was talking about New Zealand or Dorset...
It must make the glowballers stagger.
If you divide the cause of all this unusual stuff into their respective
"basins" it becomes a little more easy to get a handle on it.
If you look at it all as one lump, you wouldn't have an hope
(presumably*) in hell of any continuity of your understanding.
*Never having had to confront this relatively recent phenomenon without
a firm foundation for a faith in the alternative, that there is no
basis for glowballs.)
