There's certainly loads of detail on the MetO site, but detail is
different to accruacy.
I noticed that the weather warning for SW England stated the strongest
winds would be in Devon, Somerset & Dorset rather than Cornwall, so I
went to
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/...t_weather.html and
checked the various locations.
I checked Penzance - Strongest winds 46mph 09:00 on 11th, checked
Salcombe, strongest winds 46 mph 09:00 on 11th , checked Lizard,
Newquay, Plymouth - all the same - at which point I gave up. Not just
identical wind speed, but also at the same time for places 100 miles
apart.
If the MetO seriously think that the strongest winds at Salcombe
tomorrow will be identical to those on the Lizard point I think they
should buy some more seaweed.
The serious point here is that all this detail isn't justified, it just
looks good until you dig a bit.
