Got to the part of the road shown on the photograph in the article. I didn't
even attempt it. The water was higher than shown in the photograph - it must
have been taken earlier in the day. Cars stuck and yet many ignoring this
fact and attempting to drive round the stuck ones. Very, very silly as what
was a road had turned into a lake as the water was overflowing from a large
field adjacent the road. The field was pretty much underwater for most of
its area and the water was flowing off it, along the road for its entire
width for best part of 100m, and then crossing the road to run into a field
on the other side of the junction and washing over parts of that road. The
water was quite fast flowing too. That, combined with the wash from vehicles
attempting to go through it led to an 'interesting' view. HGVs threw up some
decent sized bow waves as they ploughed through which did not help the
engines of cars... cue more police arriving on the scene.

Is this anywhere near the drought stricken south east, I wonder?
