David Braine on Spotlight weather yesterday did say that the strongest
winds (gusts) today would probably be to the east of high ground such
as the Exe Valley. How true that has turned out to be I don't know.

I recorded a gust of 48 mph earlier this morning which isn't really
that big a deal given the forecast.
