At my AWS at Milhaguet in the Haute Vienne (55km WSW of

there had been no frost since just after Christmas, but
the rain turned to snow on Monday evening, pulling the temperature
down to within a couple of points of zero. By this morning there
was, according to neighbours, about 5cm (from 13mm of rainfall) of
heavy, wet snow. Since then the temperature has continued to fall,
and so has the snow ... it's now roughly 20cm deep and drifting
badly in the strong NNE wind.

I noticed a few locations in central France reported snow depth this
morning, should be good for the Alps.
