Think most people like snow when they're warm, dry and fed.

I don't think I would have liked it much in the winter of 1947 following
years of wartime deprivation and rationing, without central heating or
double glazing, and when even a lump of coal was hard to come by.

But you have to admit that was a long, long time ago.


But still very much in the forefront of our minds, only rich had coal, the
poor had coke carried in an old pram.
