Or will you be joining the squirrels at Tavistock car boot sale?
Them selling their nuts and you shifting all those cut logs.
Still using my logs, relatively cold up here you know, even in a mild month!
But yes little change to my forecast issued days ago, despite oscillations in
models. Broad signal was always there, *if* you had the expertise to see it.
OK, of course it may still change (unlikely now), but the cold block will become
established from the north over the weekend (night frosts and snow showers on
exposed coast areas). Atlantic lows start to come in mid-week bringing rain,
sleet and snow. I still expect a lot of (potentially heavy) snow from the
Midlands northwards. *Possibility* of things grinding to a halt further south.
How far south the snow line comes depends on how quickly the cold air pushes
south later in the weekend and on Monday. SW England is not well placed for any
snow (except high Dartmoor of course!).
A very tricky and potentially snowy week (for some) coming up.
Confidence high on it turning cold from the north this weekend.
Confidence moderate on precipitation coming in mid-week.
Confidence moderate on rain turning to snow on hills in south (above 300m) and
low ground Midlands northwards.
Confidence moderate on some heavy snow with drifting in north (particularly on
hills).
Confidence low for any snow Midlands southwards on low ground.
Confidence very low for any detail.
Phew, I hope that helps.
Regular Devon forecast tonight after I have seen all the latest outputs.
Will.
