Default Surf's Up

Still appears fairly calm in Lyme Bay though. It often surprises me how
quickly the swell dies away just east of the Lizard.

It sometimes surprises me though, when normally it is flat calm along the
south Devon coast, then suddenly you can get big rollers coming in, even on
Sidmouth beach. The local surfers seem to know when they are going to
arrive. I suppose it is to do with the point of origin out in the Atlantic,
and that must be a small window in line-of-sight direction squeezing between
Brest and Lizard.
