My site here in Worcester, just south of the city centre is on a very
sheltered south sloping site, and does have a tendency to cook on days

Nick.

Just checked our mercury max/min gauge on the garage (sheltered, North
facing). I see a max of 29.8°C today.

I'm halfway between Worcester and Malvern in a location that isn't that
sheltered.

28.9C here in Cheltenham, so your figure doesn't sound too unreasonable.
