All the best

Why is it just 1947 and 1963 so 'fondly' remembered? Is it for the
length and severity?

I remember the heavy snows of 1981/2 (I wasn't alive for the other two!).

I recall driving to Coventry through drifts that had been ploughed into
canyons higher than the roof of the car.

Snow that laid level on our street in Oxford 12" deep.

Oh the fun we had at school that winter!

Does anyone have any further details on this winter, length of
snowy/severe period? How did it compare to '47 and '63?
