You're not alone in being snowless. Not even a flake fell. It started
raining yesterday evening and howled a hooley all night long. 10.8 mm
of rain fell on and off throughout the night. Big gusts last night
(don't have figures to hand) meant the usual fight out in the street
this morning ensued over whos wheelie bin/recycling box is whos.
Sky going very dark as I write.
Nick,
Just saw the news and it said (honest!) 'Trains to Paddington delayed
as they are coming from the south-west, the area worst affected by
snow' As you say, no snow, but some very strong winds which have been
totally ignored. Gusts 60mph in exposed spots down here
News coverage is governed by warnings rather than actual events. Last
night virtually no snow in Devon & Cornwall (apart from perhaps
Dartmoor/Exmoor) but some damaging winds, but too late to change the
reporting.
Swell now increasing considerably

and set to stay large for several days.
Beautiful wave yesterday (

Look quick, it'll disappear around noon - the picture that is!.
