Despite the 8cm of snow I was pleased to see that my 5 year old grandson
had gone to school. (They're tough you know, these little southerners).
More disappointing is that the very light wind is now from the west, the
temp is up to 3C and the snow is melting fast so it looks like the reward
for going to school is not going to be the promised sledging trip.
Hopefully, the extra 100m altitude will save the day.

We called the school this morning and told them that we were keeping the
kids off to go sledging!!

You could hear from their tone that they were not impressed but heh!, the
last time we got enough snow to hurtle downhill on was 5 years ago and the
kids are only young once - I'm sure their education won't suffer.

As I write, our 6 year old is painting a picture of the mornings
activities and our 8 year old is writing an essay about what it felt like
to sit on a bit of plastic and hurtle downhill.

See, it was educational after all ;-)

Oh! just looked out and it's pouring with rain - They'll be some very
unhappy bunnies at the end of school today!

Cheers

Neil

Don't worry - The Langdon Hills piste was in fine fettle.
