Hi Everyone,

Over the last few days all the forecasters have been banging on about a
'major snow event' wednesday night into thursday but nothing more after
that. The reality of the situation is that the wed/thurs snow turned out
to be a big disappointment for a lot of snow-loving people. Now here we
are on friday - a day described as a much quieter day just yesterday by
the BBC - and what's it doing - it's snowing like bilio !

I do realise that snow can be notoriously difficult to forecast
accurately but I'd be very interested to hear everyones thoughts about
the last 2 days' weather - especially the fact that todays snow was
completely unforecast just 24 hours ago - maybe the first front was just
a decoy for today's weather :-)

We had plenty of snow Weds/Thu night as forecast. Today we had some light
snow this morning and now it is raining. South Oxon.

I notice the metoffice issued a severe weather warning for Oxon/Bucks/W
Berkshire this morning for heavy snow. That hasn't materialised here.

.... and my post on Jan 30th looking even better, tempting Will into his
excellent forecast. Always looked a fringe snow situation.
"Well next week seems very unclear with all of the models struggling. A
week

ahead is always difficult but I think small changes in this instant could
mean very different weather. Cue Will. ;-)
