Default Windy Day in Devon

Hi Nick,

That's some wind. Our max gust was a mere 24KT (29 mph), but the
anemometer is only 2m agl, and fairly sheltered.

Later this week I am off to B&Q to order a micro wind turbine. Anyone
on the forum with experience, direct or second-hand, with using one of
these? At ~£1500 less £500 grant looks like value for money as well as
making good climate sense.

The seemingly unrelenting wind and rain this winter (apart from those
wonderful 2 anticyclonic weeks end-Jan) is becoming tedious. 64.4mm so
far this month.

Recently:-

Day Rain Total
6 1.6mm
7 4.6mm
8 8.2mm
9 19.4mm
10 8.0mm
11 15.2mm
12 7.4mm

I long for those cold dry days of last Winter!

Still absolutely zero 'Wintry' (SN or RASN) precipitation in
Dartington this Winter. It is starting to get too late for anything
interesting in a frozen sense to occur down hear. On the plus side the
hedgerows are flowering up. Hawthorn leaves are coming out in
profusion. The mild wet season will soon switch to the warm and dry!

Regards,
Richard.

Dartington, South Hams.
