Hello Keith. Is that the Keith who edited COL some years ago?
Can't match your rainfall, here in Wokingham. We have 30.3 mm so far this
month, and my daily values for 09z on 5th and 6th are also about half yours.
We could do with a bit more here, to get a chance of having the hose pipe
ban lifted, even though the fields are like lakes and the rivers rather
angry looking.
Best wishes

March has got off to a very wet start here at Whaddon, near Salisbury.
26.0mm of rain recorded at 0900h on 5th and 25.0mm at 0900h this
morning, the 6th. The total so far this month now stands at 60.9mm
compared to the local March average of 55.9mm. The River Avon is over
its banks south-east of Salisbury and the water meadows look as if the
tide has come in.
This could well be an exceptional month if the present wet trend
continues but it is not unlikely that high pressure will assert itself
after the weekend and the rest of the month could well be dry. This is
not a forecast just a hunch.
