There has been some momentary fun though, one of the shower clusters
forming off Liverpool Bay did as I hoped make it not only through the
Cheshire gap but it reaced the South coast, taking from 9:30 am to
just after 2 pm to make the trip. We had driving sleet followed by a
short spell of snow but mostly, it was heavy soft hail and i was
delighted to see a thin cover of whiteness (soft hail) for 15 minutes
or so. That may be the most "snow" we've had lying here all winter!

Currently it's breezy and fresh with sunny periods; here's hoping
for another Cheshire gap shower or two before the wind veers too far
towards the N/E

1750GMT - Lightning flashes and rapidly darkening skies seen to my
North, thunder heard too. Bright evening sunshine however, as large
soft hailstones start to fall - it looks nice outside as they are
lying for a while. Temp 7.0C

1759 Here's hoping for some thundersnow. Getting darker - sun's now
gone in. Huge lightning flash and nearby thunderclaps.

1801 Mod to heavy soft hail and rain with a complete but thin cover of
hail, very pretty...and pretty dark, too.

1806. It's now stopped. Temp down to 5 deg C. Thunder and lightning
now moving away and well to the South. Second bit of fun today!
