Lesley was on Arkle, 787 metres, yesterday and nearly abandoned the
ascent because of the weather conditions. Rain and high wind had made
the main ridge quite hazardous. (Arkle is in Wester Ross, 30km NE of
Lochinver).

I once had a very soggy packed lunch near Ben More Assynt during a
geology field trip, whilst the lecturers were in the bar of the
Inchnadamph Hotel.
