Hi, All,
20C reached at the Lead Mill last week but not at the official Met O
site. As expected, the wind has veered today from the cool easterlies
off the North Sea to warmer southerlies off the Vale of York. This
should bring us our earliest 20C recorded here, equal with 15th April
2003. We sometimes have to wait until June for this milestone.
It all went to plan for this sun and warmth lover. High today 22.6C
which is a new April high for me since I began recording for the Met O
in 1972!
Previous highs were 22.5C at Low Etherley and 22.4C here at Copley -
so a pretty close run thing.
10.8hr sun today so far with mean wind speed just 3.1KT, a wonderful
day.
Ken
Ken, what range did you have today. We went from 3.3 to 24.2. I was
surprised at that max I have to admit, but what an amazing day for April.
