Default May CET

Talk about the media expecting a record breaking CET every month, I've
just been asked how warm it needs to be in May to beat another record
back to 1659!

The research was interesting; there have been 22 Mays with CET mean
higher than 13.0C, with the highest being 13.9C in 1848, or so I
thought!

I almost missed a random 15.1C mean in 1833, 1.2C higher than the next
best - must have been a heck of a month, and no mention of global
warming either - wonder what the journos of the day made of it?

I notice however, it's already been discussed here!

Fair play to them.
