A few years ago I recall a June depression that was said to have given
gusts up to 100mph albeit in the far north of Scotland and the northern
Isles with little of note happening in the rest of the country.

ISTR they said it was the deepest Atlantic low on record for June though
of course the centre didn't track across the mainland.
