He's vanished for the last several weeks - usually he's here complaining
about heatwaves once the temperature hits 60F...

Yes, where is Will - we miss his contributions.
In cognito?

Hi Guys, don't worry I'm still here.

Been away on holiday walking the Coast to Coast (Wainwright) from St Bees Head
to Robin Hoods Bay. Did it in 12 days (192 miles). Great weather, cold and clear
in the Lake District (just after Bank holiday) enabling us to conquer St Sunday
Crag, Helm Crag, Red Pike (straight up from Ennerdale), High Crag, Haystacks,
High Stile, Lining Crag, Kidsby Pike and many other smaller ridges/summits. (On
Monday 28th a walker in the pub talked of snow showers on top of Scafell). Only
down side was the low cloud and drizzle over the North York moors round Blakey
ridge (made me think of Dartmoor). I recommend the walk if only for the pubs and
beer on route :-)

Now I'm back trying to catch up.

Today's situation (Friday 15th) is fascinating with a deformation zone and a
slow moving band of heavy frontal rain, there's going to be some very high
(possibly extreme) totals in a few places before the day is out I reckon.

Here in Devon it is warm and muggy this morning after some heavy rain last
evening. Temp. 12.9C
