Hurricane Charley -equivalent rainfall in Leeds!
Hello Rob,
As I had hinted in my last post, I thought we (as in the Yorkshire area)
were going to cop it.
But 82 mm!
Radio Leeds reported this morning that West Yorkshire Police had advised
that driver avoid Wakefield. West Yorkshire Fire Service had 100 flood
calls inside one hour. Sheffield has abandoned cars in the city centre.
One for the records then.
(Closer to home, the allotment on the hilltop of Gipton under water, a
water butt emptied yersterday nearly full.)
Dorian.
