Quite a few rumbles of thunder in Southampton (Highfield). Unfortunately
my office lacks any windows with any view of anything other than bricks,
so I can't see what's going on.

Either of you guys caught any downpours with your storms?

Thunderstorm rumbled on from 1223Z until 1350Z, at first to
the west of Romsey, before 'jumping' to the northeast but little
lightning seen here, partly due to the sun shining for much of
that time through a stationary hole in between all those low-
based CBs.

There is so much spreading out at medium levels, that the cloud
looks more like Altostratus, and we've now lost the sun, making
the 15.9C feel as cool as it reads.

Surprisingly little rain has fallen here (0.5mm so far) considering
the number of heavy showers and thunderstorms in our locality
today. Somebody must have received a deluge.

It slid across W--E just to my North as often happens... not a drop
of rain fell here until an hour later (the rain mentioned by Jonathan)
and even that was light to moderate so nothing spectacular, 1mm or
less. There was 6mm earlier in the day though.

At least I saw the one C-G lightning flash and a lot of C-C.
