As summer days go I can remember few as utterly wretched as this one.
The temperature 'peaked' is that is indeed the right word at a miserable
13.4C. There was persistant moderate (sometimes heavy) rain from
the early hours until mid afternoon. The rain has pretty much stopped
now the 'reverse Pennine effect' has finally decided to come into play.
However now there is a nasty wind blasting through the trees that
must surely be up to 40 mph or so....

You've obviously never lived on Dartmoor Col!
Day max here today 12.2C. Rain all day (still raining) and a force 5-6
wind
howling round the chimneys, nothing unusual, even for June.
(Unlike what is happening in south Yorks and Humberside with extreme
rainfall at
present).

Will. Polite request, please don't refer to "H******ide", it doesn't go down
too well in these parts!!!!
I am now up to 225.3mm for the month, which was pretty wet even for
Penistone when I lived there.
